500 Sessions in 3 Years: The System Behind Brandon’s Consistency | Reps & Reflections

YouTube video

Brandon Johnson just hit 500 sessions at Olde Town Athlete — a milestone that puts him, in Colby’s words, on his way to becoming the face of the gym.

What makes that number meaningful isn’t just the volume, it’s the consistency behind it: Brandon has been showing up, week in and week out, for over three years.

He came in having been out of the gym for more than six years. The original goal was straightforward — use strength training to support his cycling. But something shifted early on. The strength gains came fast, the outlet it provided spilled over into his energy, his attitude at work, and how he showed up for his family. Cycling became the background; the gym became the priority.

What stands out about Brandon’s story isn’t a dramatic transformation — it’s the quiet, deliberate system he built around consistency. He books his sessions the same day he finishes one, three weeks out. He reviews his week every Sunday. He puts his workouts on his work calendar so no one can touch that time. When life gets in the way, he doesn’t spiral — he finds another slot, or he accepts the miss and moves on. He’s been in the rhythm phase for a while now: no real resistance, just showing up.

The lesson he’d pass back to the version of himself who started in 2021 is simple: give it a chance. The first few months were discouraging. He didn’t enjoy being there. But he stayed patient, let the routine take hold, and eventually it stopped feeling like something he had to do and started feeling like something he didn’t want to go without.
